team building

Client: GumGum – London HR Team
Location: Dutch office (In-person)
Program Focus: Building resilience and reducing conflict

  • Background

GumGum’s HR team in London reached out: their employees in the NL office — working mostly remotely— met rarely in person all together. As a result, communication was strained, misunderstandings were common, and stress levels were rising, especially when working under tight deadlines.

The company wanted to create a moment for reconnection and alignment by bringing the team together physically at their office in NL. The objective was not just to meet face-to-face but to address the causes of remote work tension and give the team tools to handle pressure more effectively.

Objectives

  • Help the team build resilience to better navigate the challenges of remote collaboration.

  • Improve communication and reduce misunderstandings.

  • Create a supportive space for open sharing and empathy.

  • Equip team members with practical strategies to manage stress, conflict, and tight deadlines more constructively.

Program: Building Resilience and Coping Strategies

I delivered a tailored workshop on resilience—positioning it as a key skill not just for individual well-being but for effective teamwork.
Key elements included:

  • Understanding what resilience is and why it matters in high-pressure, digital environments.

  • Developing problem-solving strategies to face interpersonal challenges.

  • Encouraging team members to share personal experiences of overcoming difficulties and reduce judgment within the group.

Participants were engaged in reflective activities and guided exercises that allowed them to explore how they respond to stress, where they may get stuck, and how they can better support each other going forward.

Outcomes

By the end of the session:

  • Several individuals openly addressed past misunderstandings, creating room for repair and clarity.

  • The group left with a set of practical tools to help them manage future stress and collaborate more constructively—even at a distance.
